Char Dham & Kailash Mansarovar

Kedarnath Temple is one of the holiest Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and is located in the Himalayan range near the Mandakini river. The temple is believed to have been built by the Pandavas and later revived by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century.

Badrinath Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is one of the 108 Divya Desams. Located along the banks of the Alaknanda River, it is considered one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites. The temple was established by Adi Shankaracharya in the 9th century.

Gangotri is the origin of the River Ganges and seat of the goddess Ganga. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Ganga and is one of the four sites in the Char Dham pilgrimage. The Ganga descends from Gaumukh glacier, which is about 19 km from Gangotri.

Yamunotri is the source of the Yamuna River and seat of the goddess Yamuna. It is the westernmost shrine in the Char Dham pilgrimage. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna, and nearby are hot springs where pilgrims cook rice and potatoes.

Mount Kailash is considered the abode of Lord Shiva and is one of the most sacred mountains in Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Bon. Lake Mansarovar, near Mount Kailash, is one of the highest freshwater lakes in the world and is believed to be created by Lord Brahma.
